Are you passionate about DevOps and cloud-computing? Do you love our planet and want to help the renewable energy transition? We are looking for a DevOps engineer to strengthen our numerical weather prediction platform. A development team member who works together with our developers and scientists to bring the next generation weather prediction to the world.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

In this role you will be the link between in-house software development and cloud/IT infrastructure on the border between modern DevOps and traditional High Performing Computing. We offer precision weather forecasting that optimizes weather-influenced industries all over the world. To serve our customers the best, you collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to shape the growth towards a high-available cloud-native platform (Azure or Google cloud). You and your 5 team members are responsible for designing for scale and running our IT services in operation. Your supportive mindset helps us in improving customer experience and security. Our tool chain is based on Python. You will be part of an agile team and lift the team to a higher level with modern software best-practices such as GitOps, CI/CD and other awesome tools.

Job requirements

WHY ARE YOU AWESOME?

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer with a BSc or MSc degree and who is an expert on Linux based infrastructure and Python. You know all about cloud technologies, preferably Google Cloud Computing and/or Azure. You have affinity with a GitOps based workflow using Gitlab. You have a track record in running one or more?production systems at a cloud provider, preferably running data pipelines. You also have experience in infrastructure as code such as Terraform and/or provisioning with Ansible. We hope you are a true advocate for modern DepOps best practices and are eager to educate your colleagues on that aspect. Good troubleshooting skills and security awareness are much appreciated. You are excited about FaaS- and PaaS platforms of GCP/Azure, such as Cloud Function, Cloud Run and GKE. Last but not least, you love to work with your colleagues and want to join us in the office in Delft, the Netherlands
